Our Featured Dogs/Friends
Jake
Jake was found in the Mojave desert, starving and dehydrated. He was in foster care for a few months before coming to The Brittany Foundation, so we know that Jake gets along well with most other dogs and has a very sweet temperament overall. He’s just a big loveable goofball who likes hanging out with people, getting belly rubs, and going for walks. Jake knows “sit” and “off” and is extremely food and praise motivated. He would do best with a big-dog or pit-bull experienced owner or family who would be willing to give Jake a little extra training in return for the best friend anyone could ever hope for.
To inquire about adopting Jake, volunteering, or donating to The Brittany Foundation, call (661) 713-5240 or e-mail Brittany_dogs@yahoo.com. The Brittany Foundation opens its doors from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Sunday so families can meet rescued dogs for adoption. The Foundation can also make appointments during the week. For more information, visit www.brittanyfoundation.com. Application, home check and fee required for adoption.
Ellie
Ellie is a Chocolate Labrador who was dealt the worst life a poor soul could have. She survived the terror of being in a house fire which resulted in a serious leg injury. Since she received no medical attention, her leg had to be amputated. What she needed most at that time was attention and love; dogs with disabilities can be the most loyal teachers and best of friends in return. Instead, she was placed in a 4×8 kennel that did not allow her to thrive or express her adorable and playful nature. Ellie is an excellent companion that can’t get enough opportunities to romp and play. Ellie didn’t let a house fire or the amputation of her leg stop her from seizing life. All she really needs now is someone with a big heart to give her an adoring home. To find out more about Ellie or inquire about adoption, contact: the fantastic rescue group that has taken her in, Pet Pals of Wyoming at: www.petpaslshelter.com or the wonderful animal advocacy organization: www.eviealo.com.
